Energy chains for work portals in large ship production
At the compact shipyard in Papenburg, where mainly luxury liners and high-end cruise ships are built, a gigantic crane system is used over a length of almost 200 metres. Energy supply systems from igus are used to supply a crane system with a total of eight crane bridges with energy and media. They provide the necessary flexibility and freedom of movement when manufacturing high-precision steel components.

Leading manufacturer of boat cranes uses iglidur plain bearings
Quality Boat Lifts uses iglidur P plain bearings in their cranes, which are used in commercial and private marinas, and also by private boat owners to hoist boats out of the water. The bearings allow for an easy adjustment, which works without external lubricants and therefore does not burden the environment. Furthermore, they are resistant to UV radiation and salt water.

Weather-resistant energy chain on the ship loader in the Baltic Sea port of Wismar
In the course of the conversion measures at the Baltic Sea port of Wismar, a ship loader that was previously used exclusively for loading potash was converted for handling different bulk goods in 2000. Since then, igus energy chains and cables have been used as they work reliably and without downtime.
