Subsequent extensions or special requests, such as routing liquid media outside but still close to the interface, are often time-consuming and involve a great deal of effort. This in-house development of the Snap-On Carrier can simply be clicked onto an existing igus® Module Connect connection in order to attach additional components such as additional cables or pneumatic hoses to the interface in parallel or at a later date.

For users who want to configure their own customised interface, Module Connect sets now have three or four cable entries.
They consist of carrier housings, grommets, sealing inserts and strain relief. Accessories such as single and double locking devices and fixing elements can be ordered to suit the application. Contact inserts for customised configuration are also available directly from igus®!

Thanks to the simple modular principle, an individual plug-in/disconnection point can be configured as a module from several connector housings. Each housing can be fitted with up to four different connector inserts.

The housings can then be joined together, allowing almost unlimited module variations in individual widths and heights. Thanks to the flat housing type, the Module Connect is very space-saving and enables a high contact density for every application.

Module Connect in the packaging industry

Module Connect ensures fast maintenance in the packaging industry

In case of maintenance, igus has provided a plug-and-play system to enable quick maintenance. Previously, maintenance work took about four hours, which could often only be carried out by two employees. Thanks to the new interface concept, the Module Connect from igus®, changing the energy supply is now reduced to approx. 45 minutes with just one person.

GHD Hartmann is one of the first customers to use the Module Connect connector. End customers of GHD Hartmann easily replace the energy supply with the plug-in connector from the modular system.

Automatic parking system

Wherever fast reaction times are required, e.g. in the event of a fault, the Module Connect adapter ensures fast connection of the energy supply system to the machine and avoids long downtimes.
