In the driver's cab of trains and trams, the operating elements are equipped with various igus components. drylin linear guides are used in driving and brake levers. They enable easy adjustment thanks to their sliding elements made of high-performance polymers. Bearings in control panels or the emergency brake are equipped with iglidur G plain bearings. The iglidur G material is the best-selling iglidur material worldwide. It impresses with its high wear resistance and is cost-effective at the same time.

In modern driver's cabs, clean and quiet adjustment is a must for a high level of comfort. Height-adjustable control panels and foot pedestals contribute to this and thus fulfil the ergonomic standard. Here, dryspin lead screw drives are used to move the control panel and foot pedestal up and down. They are supplemented by energy chains for safe cable guidance and chainflex cables, which are particularly hard-wearing and therefore guarantee a fail-safe data and power supply.

All igus components made from iglidur high-performance polymers do not require additional lubrication and are therefore maintenance-free. They contain incorporated solid lubricants and are therefore self-lubricating. They were put through their paces in the igus test laboratory and thus enable a particularly high wear resistance. Based on the test laboratory data, their service life can also be calculated using the free igus online tools.
