The engineers chose the igus triflex energy chain system due to its flexibility, manoeuvrability and cable protection. For the main energy supply, the RSEL system provided a compact, cost-effective solution for routing hoses, air lines, and camera control cables on axis 6. Different chain systems were then used to optimise performance across the robot.
- Axes 1-3: The lightweight and cost-effective TRL multi-axis energy chain was selected, offering simple installation and sufficient protection for the less demanding movements.
- Axes 3-6: The more robust TRE.100.145.0 energy chain was used to accommodate the larger number of cables and hoses, with side openings that simplify filling and maintenance.
To provide the required freedom of movement, a 270° swivel bracket was incorporated, delivering a reliable and cost-effective solution for the robot's extensive range of motion.
