Gliding applications for long travels

What is gliding application?

In gliding applications, the upper run of the energy chain glides on the lower run or on a sliding surface of the associated guide trough. Gliding applications are used in applications with long travel distances - i.e. where the unsupported length of the energy chain can no longer be realised.

How an energy chain system works in a gliding application. In this application, the infeed or fixed end is located in the centre of the travel path. With centre-fixed, you achieve the minimum length of energy chain and the maximum travel of cable.

You can configure centre-fixed or offset centre-fixed in the energy chain configurator.

The chain length is calculated as follows:

Two reverse gliding applications
