Lubrication-free plastic plain bearings in innovative weaving machine
The UniShed2 machine from Gitec GmbH operates without an electromechanical harness and instead uses vibrating axes that are supported in plain bearings from igus. For this purpose, bearing made of the high-performance polymer iglidur J3 are employed. They improved significantly the service life. Their freedom from lubrication ensures that no maintenance is required and no dust or dirt from the environment sticks to the bearing points.

Energy supply systems in flat knitting machine ensure quality and flexibility
The company Stoll relies on igus energy chains from the Series 27i in its knitting machines. They have to fulfil high requirements: in combination with strong accelerations (10m/s² in the normal range, up to 20m/s² for quick stops) and the sometimes poor ambient conditions, such as extreme heat and oily air, the internal copper cables and hoses must not break. Our e-chains easily withstand the more than 50 million movement cycles that are not uncommon in knitting machines.

e-chain® enables fast operation of a wall cleaner
Until an e-chain was used in this wall cleaner, the electricity cable regularly got twisted, leading to short circuits and downtime of the plant. So as to avoid these incidents, the operator used e-chains by igus and the problem was solved.
