In order to reduce noise and CO2 emissions at ports, ships docked at the quayside are increasingly being powered by environmentally friendly shore power solutions. At Container Terminal Tollerort (CTT), the smallest terminal in the Port of Hamburg in terms of area, the aim was to find a particularly space-saving and flexible solution. The operator opted for an e-spool flex, a large drum with a rol e-chain, in conjunction with a socket trolley. While the drum was installed at the end of the quay, only the narrow socket box and the cable routing travelled along the quay. The result: A mobile power supply solution for ships that increases flexibility and efficiency at the harbour.
