Swivelling wear, single travel mode

Pivot angle: 48°; load: 29.5MPa
Test result
Although iglidur ® J with a max. permissible surface pressure of 35 Mpa is not a typical "heavy-duty material", it shows very good results in this test on a soft stainless steel shaft. This is a good example of the fact that a high permissible static surface pressure is not necessarily a meaningful indicator of wear resistance in dynamic applications. The metallic rolled bearing (permissible static surface pressure > 100MPa) also shows relatively low wear, despite the fact that harder surfaces are more favourable for this type of bearing. However, the image shows that the gliding layer in the inner diameter is already partially worn. This could have a detrimental effect on the service life.
