Highest compressive strength, coupled with high elasticity, gives iglidur® Z its outstanding properties in connection with soft shafts, edge loads and impacts. At the same time, the bearings are suitable for temperatures up to +250 °C.

High abrasion resistance at low surface speeds 


Easy-to-process, abrasion-resistant filament - suitable for food contactiglidur i150 is characterised by high wear resistance, as the material is enriched with solid lubricants. It can be processed just as easily as standard PLA and PETG filaments. Due to its high wear resistance and good mechanical properties (strength, toughness, layer adhesion), it is an all-rounder material that is suitable for most applications and 3D printers. This makes it by far the most frequently used igus filament. There are restrictions only in terms of the maximum permanent application temperature of 65°C and for highly dynamic applications.Furthermore, it is suitable for food contact due to the conformity according to EU 10/2011 and is therefore ideal in applications in the food and packaging industry.  


The materials of the ECON series, iglidur J4, GLW, P4, PLW210, ALW350, HLW and NEW: Q2LW are not only ideally suited for many applications, but are now also available on the European market in standard dimensions.

iglidur® A200 | FDA-compliant for low speeds
iglidur® A200 is suitable for use in direct contact with food. It is the ideal solution for bearing points on machines for the food industry, medical equipment manufacturing, small household appliances, etc. Since the addition of solid lubricants had to be dispensed with to ensure food compatibility, iglidur® A200 is specially designed for abrasion resistance. iglidur RW370 is an abrasion-resistant, high-temperature tribofilament which was specifically developed for use in railway vehicles. As such, its fire-retardant specifications conform to UL94-V0 and EN45545. In addition, it has the maximum mechanical strength of all tribofilaments and a long-term temperature resistance of 170 °C, which makes it the material of choice for high-temperature applications.

All other iglidur® materials with V0 rating are part of the high-temperature segment. The general mechanical and thermal specifications are largely comparable with the all-rounder iglidur® G.

It was specifically developed for use in the food and packaging industry: the printed components are compliant to FDA and EU Regulation 10/2011 and the blue colour ensures the required optical detectability. iglidur i151 is also an all-rounder material, and due to its good mechanical properties (strength, toughness, layer adhesion) it is suitable for most applications. iglidur i151 has comparable mechanical specifications as iglidur i150, by far the most frequently used igus filament. There are restrictions in terms of the maximum permanent application temperature of 65°C and for highly dynamic applications.

As such, the raw material is compliant with EU 10/2011 and FDA food contact regulations and has the industry standard blue colour. It is temperature-resistant up to 180 °C, fire-retardant according to UL94-V0 and can be sterilised with superheated steam.
Tip: iglidur A350 complies with the fire prevention requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration of the USA (FAA) for aircraft interiors

With iglidur® H3 there is a new material in the iglidur H family. H3 sets new standards with its high durability. iglidur® M250 | The robust all-rounder with outstanding vibration damping
The self-lubricating material iglidur® M250 is particularly characterized by impact strength, vibration damping and wear resistance. It proves itself particularly well under stresses where a vibration-damping function of the material is required, e.g. in sports equipment and packaging machines. As it is also capable of embedding dirt, it is also suitable for agricultural machinery and gardening equipment.

iglidur M260 was specially developed for use in harsh environments. In addition, care was taken during development to be able to use the material particularly well for injection-molded thick-walled bearings. Selective laser sintering (SLS) material: iglidur i6-BLUE
The iglidur i6-BLUE material, developed for laser sintering, is specifically intended for use as a worm wheel, and for food contact. The tests in the igus test laboratory showed a longer service life than for conventionally milled gears - e.g. POM - This significantly increases flexibility in the design of components, because the laser sintering process eliminates the need for tooling and therefore special parts can be manufactured efficiently with no minimum order quantity. Furthermore, iglidur i6-BLUE is ideal for snap-on connections due to the higher elongation at break.

In the development of iglidur® R, the focus was on high performance and a very low price. In particular, low friction and wear values were to be achieved in dry running. Components made of iglidur® R are specifically supported by a combination of solid lubricants. iglidur® AB helps to reduce the level of bacterial contamination in bearing points that are difficult to access. iglidur® AB was specifically developed for applications in areas with high hygiene requirements. Often such applications are manually operated pivots (doors, medical furniture, etc.). The material reduces the level of bacterial contamination but - like all &#34;anti-bacterial&#34; materials - is not a substitute for adequate hygienic measures.

Selective laser sintering (SLS) material: iglidur i3
The iglidur i3 material, specially developed for laser sintering, showed an abrasion resistance 3 to 30 times better than conventional materials for laser sintering in the tribological tests in the igus® test laboratory. As a result, the degrees of freedom are further increased when designing wear-stressed sliding components. It is used for  all  sliding applications, as well as rollers, racks, spur gears and bevel gears.
