What is "smart technology"?

igus® smart technology is a combination of advanced sensor integration and high-performance polymer bearings. This ensures a delivery of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance capabilities for industrial machinery.

This technology was designed to reduce or eliminate where possible unexpected downtime and improve reliability within operation. The intelligent smart technology offers solutions that continuously monitor wear and performance in a multitude of demanding or hard-to-access applications.

We offer smart plain bearings, slewing ring bearings, commonly known as rotary table bearings, as well as linear guide systems.

All these products ensure machine operators are able to identify maintenance needs as early as possible, optimise service intervals, and extend equipment through data-driven maintenance strategies.

Smart linear technology

In addition to condition monitoring using the drylin® W LED carriage, it is also possible to equip a drylin® W carriage for predictive maintenance. This then not only indicates that the sliding foils are worn, but also when the optimum time for replacement is.

This means you always use the products with the maximum service life, because you will never again replace them too early or too late.

With the drylin W linear slide with LED, simple handling and visualisation are possible via LED. There are 2 sizes available which are 10 and 16. Set of replacement bearing foils are available from stock and the part comes with practical assembly tool
