Maintenance-free operation and dry operation thanks to iglidur® plain bearings
No lubrication of the bearing points necessary
FFT Produktionssysteme GmbH & Co KG was looking for maintenance-free plain bearings for an accumulating conveyor belt. This accumulating conveyor belt is used to guide parts in processing lines and serves to link different areas of the system. Since metallic plain bearings were out of the question due to lubrication and the associated maintenance, the decision was made to use igus® plain bearings made of high-performance polymers.
The special feature of the iglidur® materials is that they can be used without maintenance and lubrication, as the material contains solid lubricants. They lubricate iglidur® bearings independently and thus reduce friction. They are distributed throughout the material in the form of microscopically small particles.
By using iglidur® plain bearings, FFT Produktionssysteme GmbH & Co KG offers its customers a clear advantage: The plain bearings additionally reduce the maintenance effort of the accumulating conveyor belts, which reduces maintenance-related downtimes. In addition, there is no risk of failure due to insufficient lubrication.

- Very good coefficient of friction
- Resistant to edge pressure
- Resistant to shocks and impacts
- Particularly resistant to dirt and dust
- Resistant to high loads (>60 N/mm²)
- Mould-resistant in accordance with DIN EN ISO 846
- Fogging behaviour according to DIN 75201-B
